I honestly expected to these to sound like most basic, cheap computer speakers and boy was I totally wrong. I don't know the science behind it, but the passive radiators on the backs of these paired with decent sounding drivers makes for a really good sound. They sound way bigger than they actually are and the entire spectrum is well balanced. Obviously these are not super bassy, but they have a pretty good soundstage and sound way more "alive" than most basic speakers.Obviously they're not amazing, but for the cost and form factor they do have a really good sound that I found seriously impressive. I grabbed these because I am trying to separate my main computer from my workbench and use this Debian Thinkpad for all of my work stuff. That Thinkpad has the worst speakers ever created so I needed something low cost and low power to help it along and these are perfect. They don't just replace the bad speakers in the Thinkpad, they actually sound great.They have some goofy features like the RGB lights which are barely noticeable unless it is pitch black. There's also a micro SD card slot that immediately plays any music files when inserted which isn't mentioned in the listing at all. I guess if you need something to just loop audio files 24/7 this would work great for that, but there is no way to control the media files. There's also an antenna on this board, but there's no bluetooth or wifi broadcasting from it so I'm not really sure what's going on in there. The listing also states this comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter, but there was not one with mine. Maybe a typeo or a fluke, but I didn't even notice it in the listing initially anyway so it doesn't bother me. There's also no 3.5mm input on these so this listing obviously needs major revisions. This just just a USB DAC with speakers attached to it. That's it. Power and data travel in through USB which is converted into sound.I really should be docking major points for the major mixup with the listing, but these are just really good. Fix the listing and they are 5 stars all day.
