Good idea but requires some babysitting. Cuts pretty well but I had to reset and tighten one of the blades a couple times in eight holesIt worked as you’d expect for the price. Not very sturdy. I did my 1st hole no issues. Second hole was a slight blunder. I’d simply say check thoroughly each and every step of the way. Great for small projects def not a large or commercial project at all. It's been able to get the job done but there are definite quality and other flaws in this hole saw. First, it came with no instructions whatsoever - not that it's overly complicated if you're mechanically inclined but there are some subtle details that it would be easy to get wrong. A few other issues:1) The cross bar with markings to make sure the two bits will cut an equal radius can't be centered. There's a dimple drilled into the bar and they didn't get it centered. Even if it did center correctly, the measurements don't align with reality. Rather than relying on the markings, manually measuring off the center drill bit will ensure the cutters are positioned correctly.2) The largest of the included carbide drill bits had its carbide tip welded lopsided. I wouldn't actually use any of those bits as the pilot for the hole saw anyway because their shanks are too small and that largest bit is actually too large of a diameter for the shorter pilot bits so I can get along without it.3) The rubber gasket is too thin to effectively seal off the dust. The bowl still catches the vast majority of debris and contains some of the dust but a hollow rubber or even foam gasket would be better.Worked well in drywall & thin 1/4" plywood. Dust cover cracked around the bearings on first use. Had to glue it back together to keep the shaft from wobbling. This saw works really well if you have a firm hand (so the center hole guide does not widen (makes the knifes wobble and get stuck) and you take it really slow, working the blades so they are cutting and not sticking in the groove. You need some good upper body strength to hold the drill straight. It does make nice clean holes with much less mess.I was actually surprised. This hole saw cut real well, even into wood paneling that was being used as the ceiling cover. The one disappointment was that the cross bar kept working loose. I may have to put some thread locker on it. It needed tightened about every 3 holes. If you don't tighten it it will go off and your cuts will be all screwed up.Other than that, it cut out about 12 holes for lights.I used this for all the recessed lighting, heat vents, and smoke detectors in the drop ceiling panels(3/4" thick) in my basement. Super easy, nice clean cuts. I highly recommend this hole cutter.Great product. Use caution when using on existing sheetrock the knife holder will cut into the sheet rock and make the hole large than you need. Works well! Just keep it level and ease into the drywall.
