The SPG speakers offer the same drivers and studio sound quality of the popular Rockville RPG units. They're designed for optimum performance for use with powered mixers and power amplifiers. Lightweight speakers with heavy-duty components. The SPGN15 two-way loudspeakers weigh less than 35 pounds and pack a ton of punch. The SPGN15 features 1600-watt peak power capacity. They are designed with a 1.35-inch pure titanium high-frequency compression driver, and a 15“ low frequency transducer with a 3” high temperature aluminum voice coil to handle extreme power. Precision-designed drivers, crossovers and cabinet for maximum clarity. The crossover in the SPGN15 utilizes a Rockville's unique constant impedance circuit design. With equalization based on unique driver parameters and cabinet design properties the SPG speakers sound dispersion patterns match both the compression horn and woofers. Functionality:The passive SPGN158 15" is lightweight and easy to carry with three large grab handles; it stands up on its own and lays on its side, angled up for stage and monitor applications. The 35mm hole in the bottom works well, and the twist knob securely fastens it to the tripod. The wheels on the bottom work well and are small enough to stay out of the way. The blue signal light is a cool feature as well.Durability:The molded plastic design is durable but will scratch, so keep it stowed properly in transit.Connections:The Speakon connectors work well and fasten with medium tension.Sound:In my opinion with the proper equalization and amplification, the 15-inch woofer almost eliminates the need for a subwoofer. I was surprised at how well it sounded in small to medium-sized rooms. The 1.35-inch pure titanium high-frequency compression driver works very well, it has a crisp accurate sound.Realworld Use:So far I've only used them once in an outdoor parking lot business re-opening event. I had them spaced about 75 feet away, elevated up to about ten feet. Walking out to the parking lot I could very easily hear the music from 150 feet away, and they were not turned all the way up.Cons:There's no button to turn off the blue signal light in front if you don't want that functionality.However, a piece of gaffer's tape covering the LED behind the metal speaker cover would fix that.The front metal speaker grill can be pushed in a little if you are carrying it with the grill facing you, pressed against your body. So it's best to have the back of the speaker pressed against your abdomen if you like carrying it that way.Summary: Great starter DJ speaker for the money. I wish I had two more.
