I've hunted for years to find a carrying bag or case cover to protect my alto flute. My hard case is about 20" long, 6" high, 2" deep, and suffering from age deterioration. I've ordered and returned multiple bags that were not the size described and did not fit. And if you've ever tried to find a dedicated alto flute bag, they don't exist for under $300 and very few options even at that price point. But this tripod bag works. It's inexpensive, sturdy, nice-looking, with solid carry straps. Not sure why people expect it to be stiff, no fabric cordura bags are. Minor drawbacks – zipper is only on the long side, does not wrap around to allow the bag to be completely opened to access the case. And it's a few inches longer than I'd prefer. But the extra length makes it easy to slide the flute case out, and there's just enough extra space to carry its Hercules stand inside the bag. The side pocket is small, more cleaning-wand sized. Since I've been carrying the thing in a giant beach bag that STILL isn't long enough for the flute case to lie flat, I'm completely delighted with this purchase.
